ELLE summer party 2013: Sunny elegance

TV presenter Vibeke Klemetsen

ELLE magazine invited to their summer party at the rooftop at Grand Hotel in Oslo on Thursday 20th of June. The guests and celebrities were glowing in the sun by the press wall - dressed in elegant outfits styled to impress from tip to toe. The party is among the most popular during the fashion year in Norway, and many plan their outfits months ahead. Others want to make a statement, like TV presenter Line Nelvik and singer Maya Vik - both showing the belly as a gesture to the hostess Signy Fardal, chief editor of ELLE. In the debate she started by telling very few can pull off that trend, they prove they can - with great success. Fardal herself hugged soccer player John Carew and singer Maria Mena - showing her excellent mood and hospitality.

Flower power: ELLE summer party outfit

Thursday night 20th of June, the fashion society were having an all-time-high party with ELLE magazine at the rooftop of Grand Hotel in Oslo. I went to take pictures of all the lovely outfits, even though I was not in a good shape (third week with coughing cold). Anyway, dressing up is lifting my spirit! I wore a floral vintage dress bought at a flee market in Kiel in Germany for 40 NOK a few years back, a new necklace (click into post to see close-up), bracelet from Topshop and ballerina shoes from Zara.

TSH shopping night: Inspiration and imagination

Designer Tina Steffenakk Hermansen invited costumers to her store at Eckerbergsgate 33 at Frogner in Oslo on Monday 17th of June. The shopping night was a jumpstart for the imagination. Seeing pieces from the TSH brand up close, is like watching different fantasies unite in the same dream. The store itself is beautifully decorated, including an enchanting chandelier formed like an egg. The petals on the dresses, the shimmering sequins and tulle showpiece dresses are amazing. Also, a golden sequin party dress is going home with a lucky costumer. Everyone that has been in the store and written their name on the list within Wednesday 19th of June, are in the draw for the dress worth approx. 1300 Euros (10 000 NOK):

It´s early summer and extra fun to finally use your imagination when it comes to makeup. Colors are allowed! I've tested five Yves Rocher products: Two sensual lipsticks, two kinds of nail polish with shiny effect and a fresh perfume:

Green & graceful vintage dress

The joy of a really good vintage hunt, is when you hit jackpot. In this case, I spent about an hour searching between every dress, skirt, jacket, top and other clothes at Velouria Vintage at Grünerløkka in Oslo. That store is like a treasure chest, and it's so full of all you can think of - so it's smart to be patient and look through each garment. I found this green dream of a 50s dress pressed in between other green creations, and my heart jumped inside the flittig room when I realized that it was exactly my size. A perfect fit. An original 50s dress bought in New York. I wonder who the previous owner was and what kind of life she lived. Anyway, I feel honored to bring this dress back life, adding new stories to it's tale.

Moods of Norway go up in the air

The creative and happy brand Moods of Norway has designed the new uniforms for the cabin crew and pilots at the airliner Norwegians new long distance flights to Bangkok, New York and Fort Lauderdale in Florida from the 30th of May. With these elegant and hansom outfits, the crew will match the interior design inside Norwegians new Boeing 787 Dreamliner on these flights. Navy blue is the key color, mixed with Moods of Norway's characteristic checkered pattern. Norwegians own red and white colors are present in the details, as well as light blue from the Dreamliner interior design. The uniforms are highly inspired by the 60s - the golden airline decade.
