Highlights from New York: Part one

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York from September 5th to 13th has been an arena for stunnning creations made by wonderful artists. The designs are varied, but they still share some commons features: Bright colors, pastels and shimmering fabrics will continue into next year´s summer.

Zac Posen brings a feminine version of the peplum top, formed like a corset with lots of tulle. His mermaid shaped dresses in exciting colors are fit for the red carpet.

Donna Karan New York´s collection (middle photos) is pure and elegant, almost Scandinavian. It´s feminine, but in a reclined way. The full-length chiffon dress with sequins is a more romantic shape that stands out. An interesting mix of influences.

Carolina Herrera display strong and bright colors in addition to exciting geometrical features. Emroidery, shimmer and gold are important details. The ankle-length dresses give room to move for a busy lady. The figure is feminine - the fit embraces the female curves.
