Highlights from New York: Part two

The strong, bright colors, brocade, lace and embroidery continues to be important features next summer. That was evident at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, lasting from September 5th to 13th.

Jenny Packham comes with a fresh and interesting collection, somewhat different from her earlier design. The look is still stunningly glamorous, but she´s added some more versatile cocktail dresses for less “stiff” occations. The orange 70s dress is crying for attention from all the glamour-seeking women. She uses chess pattern, dots and large sequins. The mix is meticulously planned and performed.

Vera Wang´s collection uses strong baroque elements, but in a younger and brighter way. The brocade is showing parts of the skin, leaving a sexy hint. The lace dresses in green and purple are very beautiful - she even has a dress in mesmerizing blue. Varied and wonderful to watch.

Badgley Mischka has evening dresses with chiffon, brocade and sequins. Some of the outfits can be suitable for everyday use. The nude and pale colors consitutes the neutral color scheme, while one light purple dress is standing out. Shimmery fabric is the most important feature in this collection, used on skirts, pants, tops and blazers.
